back is itchy and aching now. i hope i will survive through the last training tmr. may be going for dinner after trng, with the sec 3s. how come we didn't get to eat with the sec4s last year? im missing the good old days. :(
how time flies. it feels that the first training i had was just weeks ago. i still remember vividly the day i went for the auditions for badminton in 2oo3, went there with sm but she was not accepted because she was overage, so was yz. i could still recall we sat infront of steven quek and the first thing he asked was who was born in 1990?
then we had trials with one another. somehow i don't remember there was a tzer there, the same as she don't remember there was a wanqing then. whatever it is. my opponent was jane? i don't know why i remembered that it was her. well anyway, we were sent back after few minutes of stroking. then one day, i saw my name on the class's whiteboard, together with joanne weiling ann baowen. I GOT IN!!! (((:
well, it was indescrible how i was feeling then. afterall, it was my passion to get into badminton, and of course into the competitions. the first training was kinda nervous for me, since i didn't know anyone there. thank god i saw wj! coach then was mr teo. (: he was the best coach i could have, be it skills or character wise. he was great.
given that i didn't have any sports background, other than hitting the shuttle with my aunt in the room when i was young. the first official drill i learnt was the ready position and the correct way to hold the grip. we did many crazy foot drills too. front-back drill, 4-corners drill, lobbing/netting foot drill, etc. the first few trainings were truly exhausting, that was when i felt that water is so sweet and tasty.
it was the most tedious for the first few months, for we were training up the basics strokes. lobbing, smashing, dropping, netting, pushing, lifting. we hardly had the chance to touch the shuttles and play games. but the efforts were paid off eventually. (:
though it was said that our batch had the worst skills ever, but there were still some significantly good ones like ann vivien jessica priya baowen, my skills weren't superb duper good in lower sec. doubt i could even stand any chance of playing in tournament if alan didn't fall sick during that time either, plus my AP.
only interacted with the seniors in the second half of sec2. had misunderstandings with others, but i would say that sec2 was the best year in my sec school life, especially badminton. holidays sessions were the best especially. (: i just simply <3 the morning breeze outside the hall, and the times there. what beats those times? x)
almost quitted badminton in sec3, because i felt that it was no point staying if i wouldn't have the chance to play + teachers were all against me because of my AP, most importantly the sec4s were stepping down. :( i see no motivation in badminton either. i had forgo all my passion for it when i entered in sec1. but eventually, i was ticked off by my mom, whom in the first place allowed me to quit. i remained in badminton, but dreading every training session.
sec 4. seniors had gone, now's my turn. it could be considered as the achievement year for me? got to play in the tournament for the first time, and won most of the matches i played w biyun, cept for the one against NYGH. almost got us a trophy, but due to some miscalculations. it was gone again. but i should be contented i guess, at least i had my dream come true --- to get to play in tournament.
now, it would officially be stepping down after tomorrow. kinda she bu de the juniors, since i recently then got to interact with them. *laughs* im a cold and gu pi person yar, juniors don't dare to approach me either. oh wells. i hope it will turn out fine for the last training tmr. (:
